HMH and Tuva partner to help California districts meet new math standards with integrated data literacy tools

Partnership brings Tuva’s industry-leading data literacy tools — available in both English and Spanish — into HMH’s newly approved Into Math California for grades K–8 and Algebra 1

Boston, MA and New York, NY — February 09, 2026 — Tuva, a leader in K–12 data literacy solutions, and HMH, a leading adaptive learning technology company, today announced a partnership to embed Tuva’s authentic datasets and interactive graphing tools into HMH Into Math California. The integration coincides with the California State Board of Education’s approval of Into Math California for statewide adoption, recognizing its alignment with the 2023 California Mathematics Framework.

The partnership addresses a pivotal shift in California’s Mathematics Framework, which emphasizes data reasoning, real-world applications and inquiry-based instruction. By incorporating Tuva’s datasets and graphing tools directly into its curriculum offerings, HMH enables students to explore, visualize and analyze data in meaningful contexts—building the mathematical fluency and critical thinking skills required of 21st-century citizens.

“The State Board of Education’s approval of Into Math California is a meaningful recognition of our commitment to giving teachers and students what they need most: high-quality, engaging materials that truly support growth,” said Jim O’Neill, president of core and supplemental solutions at HMH. “Our partnership with Tuva brings that to life in a powerful way—helping students make sense of the world around them, using hands-on data exploration to connect math concepts to real-world problem solving."

Tuva’s intuitive digital tools allow students to manipulate data using various visualizations, including bar graphs, dot plots, histograms and box plots. These tools, combined with a collection of real-world datasets, empower learners to learn mathematics as they investigate complex phenomena such as environmental patterns and economic trends.

“California is leading the way in reimagining math education, and we are thrilled to support teachers and districts through this partnership,” said Harshil Parikh, co-founder and CEO of Tuva. By embedding real-world datasets into lessons, we help students move beyond just practicing math to using it as a tool to investigate, model, and explain the world they live in.”

The integration is now available across HMH Into Math California and Into Math national edition.
