Equipment Drop
Assessment
Two groups of researchers, Group A and Group B, are designing a parachute system to deliver scientific equipment via drone. The goal of the parachute system is to reduce the kinetic energy of the equipment so it does not break when landing. Group A thinks the change in velocity of the system is the most important factor for reducing the kinetic energy and protecting the equipment. Group B thinks the mass of the system is the most important factor for reducing the kinetic energy and protecting the equipment. You will look at the data from Group A and Group B to determine whether velocity or mass is the most important factor in preventing damage to the equipment when it lands.
