Characteristics of Cubic Polynomials

Task Introduction In this task, students work with graphs of cubic polynomials to describe their characteristics. They identify the roots, turning points, and the sign of the leading coefficient and describe the end behavior of the polynomial. Students will be able to: Describe the end behavior of a cubic polynomial Identify real roots and the y-intercept Identify if the polynomial has an even or odd degree Find the turning points and the intervals in the graph Identify if the leading coefficient is positive or negative
