Sample Size and the Standard Error of the Mean (v2)
Lesson
In this tutorial, students explore the Bay Area Science Festival dataset to learn how the standard error is associated with the size of the sample.
Sample Size and the Standard Error of the Mean When we draw random samples, the sample mean changes from one sample to another. The Standard Error of the Mean (SEM) tells us how much those sample means typically vary. One important factor that affects the standard error is the sample size. Tuva allows you to change the sample size using the Sampling Card and instantly observe how the Standard Error changes from the Stats menu. [---cta ⚡ Ready to practice?
