Judging Model Fit for Nonlinear Models (v2)
Lesson
Judging Model Fit for Nonlinear Models When relationships in data are curved rather than straight, a linear model may not capture the pattern well. In these cases, nonlinear models help describe how one variable changes with another more accurately. Tuva’s nonlinear modeling tools let you fit curves to data and evaluate how well they match. Judging the fit of these models is important because even a curve can miss patterns. The goal is to find a model where the differences between the data and the curve are as small as possible.
