How Do Students Make Sense of Data? We share some common examples of gaps we saw in how students graph and interpret data. Samples were collected from middle and high school students by the Maine Data Literacy Project between 2009 and 2015. Students and their teachers were engaged in data literacy activities as part of their science curriculum, or were partnering with scientists in various field research projects.
