Data Story - Will Plants Grow More?
Lesson
![]320:l Background Plants take in carbon dioxide (CO^^2^^) through their leaves and turn the carbon in CO^^2^^ into plant biomass - sugars, cellulose, and other molecules that make up leaves, roots, and seeds. As humans continue to release more CO^^2^^ into the atmosphere, the concentration of CO^^2^^ rises. With more CO^^2^^ available, will plants absore more CO^^2^^ and grow bigger and faster than before? Scientists in Quebec, Canada studied how much CO^^2^^ grasses took up under different concentrations in a growth chamber in their lab. They collected grasses from Quebec (a cold climate) and from Mississippi (a warm climate).
