Which Way Up?
Data Story
Students first interpret a map showing how the position of the weather balloon changes during the first 70 minutes of its flight, then think about other ways to graph the data to verify their interpretation.
Welcome to this Tuva data story! In December of 2013 students released a weather balloon from Noblesville High School in Noblesville, Indiana. Filled with helium, the balloon rose, collecting data about the atmosphere along its way. Which way did it go? How fast and how far did it travel? In this data story, you will first interpret a map that shows how the position of the weather balloon changed during the first 70 minutes of its flight, then think about other ways you could graph the data to verify your interpretation.
