What Will Dorian Do? (Part 2)
Data Story
Students look at a short time series from Tropical Storm Dorian (2013) and the relationship of air pressure and wind speed to make storm predictions.
Welcome to this Tuva data story! Imagine you are working in the Hurricane Specialist Unit at the National Hurricane Center on July 24, 2013 in the evening. TS Dorian is in the eastern region of the Atlantic Ocean, having just passed to the south of the Cape Verde islands. The graph on the left shows you the air pressure and wind speed of Tropical Storm Dorian through 6:00 PM. In this data story, you will predict the wind speed of the storm based on measurements of changing air pressure. Click Next to get started!
