What Made the Tree Grow?
Data Story
Students will use data to support or refute three different claims about the source of a willow tree’s growing mass.
Kids eat food, and it helps them grow taller and gain mass. How do trees grow bigger, though? They don't have mouths for eating food. [--- Have you ever taken care of a plant? What did you do to help it grow? ---] {alert-discuss} In this activity, you'll look at data one scientist collected when he was trying to figure out how trees gain mass. Then, you'll decide what claims can (and cannot!) be made using his data.
