Tackling Correlations (Full Lesson)
Data Story
In this lesson, students will create scatter plots, learn vocabulary for describing correlations, and build an argument about which factor has the greatest impact on head injury severity. !![iframe]1000x622.92 Other Helpful Information: Optional teaching slides are included at the start of the lesson. When two objects collide, their velocity changes very quickly. They suddenly stop. If your head is one of the two objects, the sudden stop can cause brain damage! Helmets are designed to help protect our brains in the event of hard impacts. The padding in helmets allows your head to slow down more gradually. People who design helmets must consider a number of different factors. In this lesson you will create scatter plots to identify how impact location, change in velocity and severity of the injury are related.
