Precious Pigments
Data Story
Compare the spectra of light wavelengths that are absorbed by four different plant pigments. What do the spectra mean for designing artificial environments for growing plants?
Welcome to this Tuva data story! Photosynthesis is a process by which plant cells use light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into sugars. Plant pigments are a class of compounds that function to absorb light energy needed for the reactions of photosynthesis. Different plant pigments absorb light in different specific wavelength ranges. In this data story, you will analyze the light absorption of four different plant pigments to tell a story about which wavelengths of light plants absorb best. Click Next to get started!
