Notice & Wonder: Demographic Mirror of Communities
Data Story
Given a graph of police underrepresentation between city populations and their police force, write a headline about a city.
Welcome to this Tuva data story! Many police departments are looking closely at the diversity of their officers compared to the diversity of the community they serve. Representation or Underrepresentation is a calculated value to compare the percentage point difference of the share of major races and ethnicities on the police force compared to the city population. Based on these data from 19 different US Cities with some of the largest police departments, write a headline for any one of the cities you choose to highlight this comparison.
