Critique, Correct, Clarify: Fishy Proportions
Data Story
In this C3 data story, students use their understanding of linear models to investigate the relationship between head length and body length of fish fossils.
Welcome to this Tuva data story! A researcher studied the proportions of fish bodies to try to make predictions about extinct fish with missing fossil records. He used mathematical modeling and statistics to try to better describe the body length of an extinct fish, using proportions of living fish. These data represent a subsample of the fish he used in his model. Your task in this data story is to analyze the argument below to decide if it is clear and correctly reasoned! If we know the head length of a living fish, then we can know the total body length of that fish. Click Next to begin!
