Ask About Trash

Data Story

We generate trash from food containers every day in the US. Most of that trash goes to a landfill or gets recycled. What questions can we ask and investigate with these data?

Welcome to this Tuva data story! Much of the food we buy comes packaged -- in glass, plastic, paper, aluminum, and steel. Some of that packaging gets recycled and some goes to the landfill. The Environmental Protection Agency provides data on how much municipal waste we generate and how it's processed by our cities and towns. In this data story, you’re going to identify which questions can be answered with the graph. Click Next to begin!
